Sporting Clays

A nice walk through the woods.

Sporting Clays is a sport that simulates hunting. There is no consistency and sporting clay fields are changed regularly. A typical round of sporting clays consists of anywhere from 10 to 15 shooting stations with a total of 100 targets thrown. Targets are presented to the athlete in either report pairs or true pairs. A report pair is when the first targe is thrown and after the first shot, the second target is thrown. A true pair is when both targets are thrown at once. There are restrictions on the shells that can be used. Typical no shot larger than 7.5 may be used and no steel shot. This does vary from club to club so check.
