Joining Young Guns may feel like a daunting task. Especially if you are not familiar with shooting sports, never fear. We are here to help.

The first step is reaching out to the coaching staff. You can send a message via Facebook or our Contact Us at the bottom of the home page. We will reach out to you and schedule an appointment to meet and conduct a quick evaluation. This is not a pass-fail but a way to ensure Young Guns and your child is a good fit for each other. We look for maturity, the ability to follow directions, and respect for adults and youth. We pride ourselves on having a friendly environment.

 

If you continue with Young Guns, there is paperwork and some mandatory memberships. We are a Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) club; thus, membership in SCTP is mandatory. The cost is $25 for youth and $35 for adult volunteers. We are also a 4H club, and 4H membership is mandatory. The 4H cost is $15.

Obviously, the cost of targets, ammunition, and shoot equipment is the responsibility of the youth. However, we do have some loaner guns until you can find one you like. Also, matches come with their own fees. You can learn more about these in our Participants Guide.

Below is the initial paperwork needed to get things started. 4H has its own registration system, and we can discuss that later.
